Summer 2007



      9:00 am     KID'S BUG SWEEP  This naturalist-led program begins at the campground's shelterhouse.
  We'll bring the nets and collecting jars, as well as prizes for the best collectors!
    12:00 pm      MONARCH BUTTERFLIES  Visit the monarch gazebo breeding facility and witness the magic of
    2:00 pm       SLIME, SKIN, & SCALES Learn more about NW Ohio's reptiles and amphibians during feeding

    3:00 pm     NATURE CRAFT  Make a cool new art project each week!

   10:00 am      BIRDING 101  this 1 1/2 hour program is designed to provide adventure and excitement whille
  learning about birds using activities, investigations, and games.  For families with children
  ages 6-14.
   1:00 pm       BOTANY BLITZ   Join staff and volunteers as we identify and inventory flowering plants found in
diverse natural areas of the park.  A fabulous botanical opportunity!  Wear comfortable shoes.
   EVENING:    NIGHT HIKE   The history of the "Great Black Swamp" is highlighted along the boardwalk trail
       as we search for bats, owls, spiders, and other nocturnal creatures.  Bring bug spray!
              (Variable starting times: Program begins in June at 9:00 pm, July at 8:30 pm, and August
                      at 8:00 pm)

  10:00 am     FAMILY FISHING FUN!  We provide the bait and tackle, you catch the fish!
  3:00 pm      SURVIVAL - OHIO STYLE  Families compete for prizes by completing nature challenges. 
Collect points to survive! Great family fun!  Meet at the campground shelterhouse.
  7:30 pm     HOLY SNAKES ALIVE!  Meet at the campground shelterhouse for the Saturday Night Ice Cream
     Social at which time we'll intorduce our park's reptillian ambassador "Foxy".

All programs start promptly at times given and meet at the Nature Center unless otherwise specified. 
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
